Trinity Episcopal Church is embarking on a search for a new vicar. We've surveyed the community surrounding our church and learned some things that surprise us. And now we're about to share the results of our surveys with the congregation as we embark on a new, exciting phase of our search. Keep reading for more details.

Rev. Sherry Hardwick Thomas

Accepts Call as Interim Vicar

After long and prayerful deliberations, the Trinity Vestry and the Rev. Sherry Hardwick Thomas, most recently of St. James-Louisa, entered into an agreement under which she would serve as interim vicar during Trinity's search for permanent leadership. We greatly enjoyed Rev. Sherry's messages of hope and affirmation during the many months she has served us as a supply leader, and she certainly hit the ground running in her first month providing strong pastoral leadership in the critical period of the LeRoi Moore funeral, presiding over the Region 15 meeting, and creating beautiful, moving services for the feasts of St. Francis and St. Michael and All Angels.

We think we've found the perfect "coach" to help us keep our ministries strong and vital during ReVision. And we're looking forward to seeing what the future brings.

What's New? ReVISION!

For months you've been hearing about ReVISION, the method the Vestry and Search Committee have determined is the most appropriate method for calling a new priest. ReVISION, in a nutshell, a process of small group Bible study and discussion that empowers us all as ministers of Christ.

ReVISION involves four groups, meeting in weekly session lasting about two hours each, for SIX weeks. It's a big time commitment, but we are assured that churches that have used this method have the highest success rates in matching missions and ministers. We are also assured that congregations undergo tremendous spiritual growth and sharpening of discernment during the process.
