Our World
Although we take seriously the call to love our neighbors in the Charlottesville community, Trinity is also committed to working for justice on the international scale through our involvement in and support for:
ONE Episcopalian
ONE Episcopalian is a partnership between the Episcopal Church and the ONE Campaign. Joining together, we strive to end extreme global poverty and achieve the eight Millenium Development Goals set by the United Nations and affirmed by every nation in the world. The MDGs are:
1. ERADICATE EXTREME POVERTY & HUNGER
2. ACHIEVE UNIVERSAL PRIMARY EDUCATION
3. PROMOTE GENDER EQUALITY AND EMPOWER WOMEN
4. REDUCE CHILD MORTALITY
5. IMPROVE MATERNAL HEALTH
6. COMBAT HIV/AIDS, MALARIA, AND OTHER DISEASES
7. ENSURE ENVIRONMENTAL SUSTAINABILITY
8. DEVELOP A GLOBAL PARTNERSHIP FOR DEVELOPMENT

ADP
For 23 years the African Development Project (ADP) has supported specific, effective programs in East Africa that enable participants to grow more food, improve their heath, education, and income, and care for the sick and orphaned. Trinity, in partnership with St. Paul’s Episcopal Church, has formed direct links with the leaders of these programs, many of whom have visited us over the years. This means that our supporters often feel a personal connection with those they are helping and are confident their donations are well used. For more information, contact Cheryl Kasper.
JUBILEE
Jubilee USA Network is an alliance of more than 75 religious denominations and faith communities, human rights, environmental, labor, and community groups working for the definitive cancellation of crushing debts to fight poverty and injustice in Asia, Africa, and Latin America. Each year Trinity participates in several events to spread awareness about this issue. For more information, contact Erica Lloyd.
