Bread & Roses Volunteers

Thank you for your interest in volunteering with Bread & Roses. Our volunteers typically serve on one (or more) of the five teams that manage our overall ministry. Read the team descriptions, then let us know which one(s) are of interest to you. We will be in touch!
Community Partnerships
This team helps build and maintain relationships with organizations with similar missions across the city, county and diocese. These relationships allow Bread & Roses to find support for its work, develop ties to communities the program might assist, and eventually, share its work as a model for future programs.

Fundraising
This team is charged with maintaining our success in securing grants, identifying and applying for new grant opportunities, and acquiring individual and corporate donations.

Gardens & Landscape
This team is responsible for stewarding the land under Trinity’s care (including the vegetable gardens and the native landscape), through sustainable, science-based practices grounded in environmental responsibility. The team is committed to organic methods and the eight principles of conservation landscaping endorsed by the Chesapeake Bay Conservation Council. The team also integrates the values of Creation Care to ensure that Trinity’s grounds support not only human needs, but also the broader ecosystem. The team ensures that produce from these gardens is shared with neighbors in need.

Kitchen
This team assists with the operation and upkeep of Trinity’s commercial kitchen, manages its tenants, and disseminates information about the mission of the kitchen and its services, including scholarships.

Spirituality
This team works to integrate the Bread & Roses gardens and landscape, food justice and community kitchen ministries into Trinity’s worship and spiritual practices. The team’s mission is to deepen our call to Creation Care as a holy and urgent expression of faith.
