Ministries of Reconciliation

Serving one another by serving the church we share

"All this is from God, who reconciled us to himself through Christ
and gave us the ministry of reconciliation."
—2 Corinthians 5:18

As Christians, we are called to reconcile ourselves to God and to one another. Worship is the most important context where reconciliation can take place. That is why we make so many opportunities available for members of the congregation to take part in Sunday worship. From flowers to fellowship, a worship service relies on the contributions of dozens of parishioners every Sunday. Some volunteer every week, but most serve once a month or so.

Altar Guild

The Altar Guild is an essential and sacred ministry, responsible for setting the table for the Holy Eucharist. The Altar Guild also cares for the items that grace the altar—candles, linens, chalices, bread plates—before and after services. Setting the table before a service (which may include changing the hangings) takes about one hour. Clearing the altar after a service takes about 30 minutes.

Care Team

Members of the Care Team help members and neighbors in need, driving them to medical appointments, visiting the homebound, providing companionship. Whatever needs doing. Our Teddy Bear Ministry is a unique gift to the Trinity community, offering comfort to those who are ill or homebound.

Communications

Communications volunteers maintain the church website, manage social media and assist with Trinity's print and online communications. The tech team operates the cameras and audio system to deliver a livestream of our services and maintains our hearing assist system.

Eucharistic Ministers
& Visitors

A Eucharistic minister is a lay person authorized to administer the consecrated elements at a celebration of the Holy Eucharist. A Eucharistic visitor is a lay person authorized to take the consecrated elements to members who were unable to attend worship. Eucharistic ministers and visitors must complete a course of training and study. They serve under the direction of the clergy.

Flowers

The Flower Ministry creates distinctive floral displays for Sunday worship, feast days and other occasions. Members of the parish may dedicate the altar flowers on a specific date in honor or memory of a loved one, or to mark a special occasion. A sign-up sheet in available outside the sanctuary, or you may contact the office.

Hospitality

One of the most enjoyable things about coming together on Sunday mornings is the time of fellowship after worship. Each of our hospitality teams works one Sunday a month to provide coffee, tea, snacks and sweets. On the fifth Sunday, they organize a potluck lunch for the congregation. They also lend a hand at special events. Additional hands are always welcome!

Sewing Group

The Trinity Sewing Group designs banners and other fabric pieces that enrich our community life. The group meets monthly for hand-sewing and machine sewing. Everyone, even if you have no sewing experience, is invited to join.

Ushers & Greeters

Ushers and greeters offer a warm, friendly welcome at the door and provide service bulletins as worshipers arrive. During the service, ushers assist with seating, collect the offering and manage the flow of worshipers receiving communion. Afterward, ushers and greeters invite visitors to sign the guest book and join us for fellowship in the parish hall.

Worship Leaders

Worship leaders help to illuminate the scriptures for our community by reading the lessons and leading the Prayers of the People. Worship leaders must complete training and serve under the direction of the clergy.
